+ WHAT WE DO

Specialist Capabilities and Services

We specialise in turnkey project delivery, providing seamless integration from planning and approvals through to engineering design and construction. CivX Marine delivers multi-disciplinary services backed by our extensive experience in complex coastal environments, effectively managing environmental, stakeholder and regulatory requirements to achieve practical, compliant outcomes.

Project Planning and Approvals

We support early project definition, feasibility and statutory approvals, providing technical input and strategic guidance for marine, foreshore and civil infrastructure projects. Our team navigates planning pathways, environmental constraints and authority requirements to streamline project delivery.

Design & Construct

Our Design and Construct (D&C) approach integrates engineering, planning and construction expertise to deliver efficient, buildable solutions. We focus on risk mitigation, cost certainty and constructability across complex marine and coastal environments.

Spatial and Technical Services

We provide advanced digital engineering, spatial modelling and technical coordination services, including drafting, GIS analysis and 3D modelling. Our workflows improve design accuracy, constructability and decision-making across complex project environments.

Preconstruction Planning

We undertake detailed preconstruction planning including the development of construction methodologies, and staging specific to marine works, cost planning, and risk assessments to ensure projects are set up for safe, efficient and successful delivery.

Additional Support Services

We provide services to support project delivery, including contract administration, superintendent services, stakeholder coordination and technical advisory. Our team supports clients throughout delivery to ensure quality, compliance and successful project outcomes.

At CivX Marine, we are driven by a commitment to delivering practical, innovative, and buildable solutions across complex marine and civil environments. Our work sits at the intersection of engineering excellence and construction capability, ensuring that every project is not only well-designed, but also efficiently delivered.
Everything we do is underpinned by our core values of integrity, collaboration, and accountability. We take ownership of outcomes, work closely with our clients and stakeholders, and bring a solutions focused mindset to every challenge. From early planning and approvals through to detailed design and construction, our team is dedicated to achieving results that are safe, cost-effective, and sustainable.

Through our partnerships and integrated delivery approach, we provide true Design and Construct (D&C) capability, bridging the gap between concept and completion. By combining engineering design with construction expertise, we reduce risk, improve certainty, and deliver projects with confidence.

At CivX Marine, we don’t just design for the marine environment, we understand how to build within it. This practical knowledge allows us to deliver smarter outcomes, even in the most technically demanding conditions.

We are proud to support our clients across government and private sectors, and to contribute to the delivery of resilient, high-quality infrastructure that serves communities now and into the future.

Adapting Coastal Infrastructure to Rising Sea Levels

Coastal infrastructure across Australia is increasingly being challenged by rising sea levels, more frequent storm events and changing tidal dynamics. Traditional design approaches are being reassessed as asset owners seek more resilient, adaptable solutions that can respond to long-term climate uncertainty.
Modern coastal engineering is shifting toward risk-based design frameworks, incorporating sea level rise projections, wave climate modelling and adaptive design strategies. This includes the use of staged construction, sacrificial elements and upgradeable infrastructure to extend asset life.
For local governments and asset owners, early integration of coastal hazard assessments into planning and design phases is critical. Collaboration between engineers, planners and stakeholders is essential to balance environmental, social and economic outcomes.

The Role of Digital Engineering in Marine and Coastal Projects

Digital engineering is rapidly transforming the delivery of marine and coastal infrastructure. Technologies such as 3D modelling, GIS integration, bathymetric data processing and hydrodynamic modelling are enabling more accurate and efficient project outcomes.
The integration of spatial and temporal datasets, including wave, tide and sediment transport data allows engineers to better understand coastal processes and predict asset performance over time. Digital twins and visualisation tools are also improving stakeholder engagement by clearly communicating complex design solutions.
As projects become more complex, the ability to integrate data from multiple sources into a single coordinated model is becoming a key differentiator in delivering successful coastal infrastructure.

Balancing Environmental Approvals and Project Delivery

Delivering infrastructure in coastal and marine environments requires careful navigation of environmental approvals, regulatory frameworks and stakeholder expectations. Projects often intersect with sensitive ecosystems, fisheries habitats and public access areas, requiring a balanced and well-coordinated approach.
Early engagement with regulatory authorities and stakeholders is critical to de-risk projects and avoid delays. Environmental management planning, impact assessments and clear documentation play a central role in securing approvals and maintaining compliance during construction.
There is an increasing focus on sustainable design and construction practices, including minimising impacts, managing sediment disturbance and protecting biodiversity. Successful projects are those that integrate environmental considerations from the outset, rather than treating them as constraints later in the process
